Artist Talk, Kaleidoscope Gallery, Sevenoaks Library
Following the SVAF Open 2015 I was invited to give an hour long talk to the Sevenoaks Artists Forum (SVAF) about my work. It was left to me to decide in what format the talk would take. Essentially I was asked to present my journey as an artist and discuss how I had arrived at the place that I now find myself. This was a paid opportunity.
For this I prepared a PowerPoint presentation and made many notes. With emails flying back and forth I entitled my talk 'A Slice of Observation, Experimentation and Evaluation.' I collated 76 slides, which included some video footage I had taken recently (see ARC). I rehearsed timings. The presentation gave a brief overview of my background entwining my exposure to art during my childhood. It then took a closer look from 2010 when I began my journey.
Reflections: I received very good feedback and I am satisfied that I delivered an articulate talk without reading from a script. I had typed notes as a safety net. The nerves are still problematic!
